Laura V. Heilig began her nursing career at the University of Michigan. After completing her bachelors degree she spent over 6 years working on an inpatient rehabilitation unit where she discovered her passion for teaching patients and families. While working part time as a registered nurse she was able to continue her education and graduated with her Masters degree in nursing in 2005. She received her certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in the fall of 2006. Laura’s professional interests include patient education, nutrition, and elder care. Outside of work, Laura enjoys a variety of hobbies like reading, cooking, swimming, and playing the piano.
